How to Draw a Baboon

 Now you can learn how to draw a baboon, the world’s largest monkey, with an easy step by step tutorial. They have a look that is all their own.


So it may have been awhile since you wondered how to draw a baboon. BUT, if you are working through the alphabet of animal drawings, and happen to be stuck on the letter “Y”, then this my friend, is also known as a YELLOW Baboon. Problem solved.


MATERIALS

  • Drawing paper
  • Black marker
  • Colored markers

DIRECTIONS

Time needed: 1 hour.

How to Draw a Baboon


1.Draw the round head. Add a face shape inside.


2.Fill in the head with the eyes, nose, mouth and ears.


3.Draw the belly shape as shown.


4.Attach one front and one back leg to the belly.


5.Draw the two remaining legs on the back side.


6.Add a tail that bends on the back side.


7.Erase the gray lines. Draw lots of grass in the background.

8.Add tree branches where ever you have some space.
9.Trace with a marker and color your Yellow Baboon.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually. Therefore I bring it out when drawings are extra simple like these cupcakes. If fact, you might just hide the pencils for this project and have everyone start drawing with a black marker.
