How to Draw a Grizzly Bear

 Learn how to draw a grizzly bear with an easy front view of their face and legs. Then make those lines wiggly for an easy furry looking animal.


This looks like a simple drawing project, but those are often turn out to be the best ones for adding extra elements to them. More specifically, two of the Elements of Art: Texture and Space.

The Texture is kind of implied, when the edges of the bear gets some fuzzy details added, and Space, when a large tree is included in the foreground, and lots of small ones in the background. Keep the trees all the same shape, just different sizes, and you have some instant perspective added.


MATERIALS

  • Drawing paper
  • Black marker
  • Crayons

DIRECTIONS

Time needed: 45 minutes.

How to Draw a Grizzly Bear


1.Start the body.



2.Draw the other half of the body.


3.Draw the head.


4.Start the nose.


5.Finish the nose.


6.Add two ears.


7.Draw the claws.


8.Add trees in fore and background.



9.Trace with a fuzzy line for the bear and color.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually. Therefore I bring it out when drawings are extra simple like these cupcakes. If fact, you might just hide the pencils for this project and have everyone start drawing with a black marker.
