How to Draw a Kangaroo

Learn how to draw a kangaroo with a baby in her pouch. Show your support for these animals that are losing lots of their habitat due to terrible brush fires in Australia right now.

Older elementary students will enjoy this drawing that shows a mother kangaroo and a baby in her pouch, but younger ones might prefer the simpler profile version that is shared further down. I find that most students are drawn to projects that matches their abilities, so if you’re not sure, just let them decide.

Please note that this tutorial has an extra set of grid lines to help get all the kangaroo parts drawn in the right place on the paper. You could also get these guides by folding the paper 4 times, but that can be a little tricky if the paper is thick. To compensate, my PDF download has a grid as shown on page 2 so you can just print your own.
