How to Draw a Lemur

 Learn how to draw a lemur, with this step by step tutorial. Those big eyes and striped tail make such a cute and unusual looking animal.


Lemurs are native only to the island of Madagascar. Most are small, have a pointed snout, large eyes, a long tail, and chiefly live in trees. A very popular kids movie about Madagascar once featured a lot of these creatures too.

But no matter what brought you to them, I think they make for a great drawing project as all the features are recognizable, they just happen to be arranged in a unique way on this very cute animal.

MATERIALS

  • Drawing paper
  • Black marker
  • Crayons

DIRECTIONS

Time needed: 1 hour.

How to Draw a Lemur


1.Draw a large U shape.

2.Add the ears and connect.

3.Draw eyes with rings.


4.Add mouth and hair lines.

5.Draw the curved body.

6.Add hands holding a ball shape.
7.Draw a long tail behind the body, add stripes.

8.Draw a tree on the right, and erase gray arm lines.

9.Trace with a marker and color.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually. Therefore I bring it out when drawings are extra simple like these cupcakes. If fact, you might just hide the pencils for this project and have everyone start drawing with a black marker.
