How to Draw a Llama

If you learn how to draw a Llama before Valentine’s Day, you can make lots of “I Llove You” cards.



The llama is a South American relative of the camel, though the llama does not have a hump. These sturdy creatures are domestic animals and have been used for centuries by the peoples of the Andes Mountains.

llamas are sweet, compassionate, friendly animals. They have such lovely personalities that nursing homes, hospitals, and special needs facilities often invite them in as therapy animals.

MATERIALS

  • Draw a Llama PDF Tutorial (click to open)
  • Watercolor paper
  • Permanent black marker
  • Crayons
  • Watercolor paints

1.Draw an upside down U for the head.

2.Continue the body shape.

3.Draw two simple legs.

4.Add two more legs and a tail.

5.Draw the face.

6.Add two ears.

7.Draw a blanket.

8.Add neck decorations.
9.Trace and color with crayons.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually. Therefore I bring it out when drawings are extra simple like these cupcakes. If fact, you might just hide the pencils for this project and have everyone start drawing with a black marker.
