Draw a Seagull

 

Here’s how to draw a seagull, and have him fill up the paper. All you need to do is turn his head so his beak is actually over his back.


You can use this turned head position with any bird, especially those with long beaks. It’s a small detail, but makes a nice composition, and adds a bit of layering if you also add the fish coming down from the beak.

Time needed: 1 hour.

How to Draw a Seagull

1.Make guidelines. Draw the head.


2.Start the back.


3.Draw the bottom belly.

4.Add a wing and lines. Draw two feet.


5.Draw an eye and beak.


6.Draw a fish in the beak and erase inside line.

7.Draw sand line and water.


8.Add clouds in the sky.


9/Trace with a marker and color.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually.
