How to Draw a Cartoon Vampire

Learn how to draw a Cartoon Vampire by focusing on just the face. Big cartoon eyes make this vampire more cute than creepy.



What kid doesn’t want to draw a vampire this time of year? You can keep things fun and creative though, by encouraging them to go more of a cartoon route. After all the pointed teeth and widow’s peak hairline kind of say it all.

This tutorial has an oversized head to keep the eyes easy to draw, and then is finished off with a simple robe below. Encourage your kids to make that hair longer or shorter, whatever they think is needed for their particular vampire.

MATERIALS

  • Drawing paper
  • Black marker
  • Crayons

DIRECTIONS

Time needed: 30 minutes.

How to Draw a Cartoon Vampire

1.Start the head with a circle..

2.Draw the circle and oval eyes.

3.Add inside eye details.

4.Draw the brows, mouth, nose.


5.Add two ears and a collar.

6.Add the simple robe below.

7.Draw the hair and hairline.



8.Finish with ground and moon.


9.Trace with marker and color.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually.
