How to Draw a Farm

Learn how to draw a farm with this easy step by step tutorial. This one has a fun birds eye view.


This drawing project is more of what you get when you mix a farm with a country map. Instead of looking at just a field or two around a barn, students can imagine what lots of fields might look like with some fun curvy roads in between.

The crops can have some simple patterns, the trees with some fun seasonal color, and there’s lots of room for vehicles on all those winding roads. For extra fun, try working with oversized paper so your students have extra room to add all those details.

MATERIALS

  • Black marker
  • Crayons

DIRECTIONS

Time needed: 45 minutes.

How to Draw a Farm

1.Draw a small barn.


2.Add a silo.



3.Start drawing a Y shaped road.


4.Finish the rest of the roads.


5.Turn one field into hills.

6.Add lines and circles for plants.

7.Add trees and field details.

8.Draw road lines and a sky.

9.Trace with a marker and color.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually. Therefore I bring it out when drawings are extra simple like these cupcakes. If fact, you might just hide the pencils for this project and have everyone start drawing with a black marker.
