Toothless is the last known Night Fury dragon in existence, and the mount and best friend of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. As the current king of the dragons in and around the Barbaric Archipelago, he is the most powerful dragon known.

Toothless became famous with Hiccup for ending the war between vikings and dragons and for uniting the two races together. He is also responsible for bringing the dragons of Berk to the Hidden World, the ancestral homeward of all dragons.

Fans of the series now have some help in drawing Toothless the Dragon, who has a well-known look thanks to his popular movies. This step by step tutorial will show how to draw all his details, while keeping them manageable for young artists.

MATERIALS

  • Draw Toothless the Dragon PDF tutorial (click to open)
  • Drawing paper
  • Black marker
  • Crayons

DIRECTIONS

Time needed: 45 minutes.

How to Draw Toothless the Dragon

1.Draw a circle for the head and add eyes inside.

2.Add the face and head details.


3.Draw two front legs and add claws.

4.Add the two back legs and add claws.


5.Draw the outline of two wings.

6.Add an inside edge to the wings.


7.Draw lines inside the wings and start the tail.

8.Finish the end of the tail.


9.Trace with a marker and color.

How to Draw LOTS of Cupcakes

Expand on a basic how to draw a cupcake lesson by making MANY of them, adding lots of bright colors, and maybe a shadow or highlight (or both). These cupcakes were drawn on trading card size paper (2.5″ x 3.5″) and placed in a trading card sleeve. The repetition of a theme and cartoon style drawing would also make a great Pop Art lesson. If the color seems extra bright to you, it happens for two reasons. One, is that I used Sharpie markers and two, is that they are colored on fingerpaint paper. The glossy finish makes the colors just pop. The only drawback to the fingerpaint paper is that it is tricky to draw on with a pencil because you can’t erase lines very well. At all, actually.
